What does BOI mean?

BOI is an English acronym that stands for "Beneficial Ownership Information" or "Beneficial Ownership Information". It refers to a report that companies must submit to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) of the United States.

Why should companies report Beneficial Ownership Information to the US Treasury Department?

In 2021, Congress approved the Corporate Transparency Law on a bipartisan. This law creates a new reporting requirement for beneficial owners as part of the US government's efforts to make it harder for bad actors to hide or benefit from their illicit profits through fictitious companies or other opaque ownership structures.
